Great view down the valley to Oberammergau

The Kofel is a 1342 m high mountain in the Ammergau Alps in Bavaria. Due to its exposed location and striking shape, it can be seen from afar from the Ammergau and from the direction of Ettal. The summit is only about one kilometer as the crow flies from the center of Oberammergau.

Still very easy at the top, the trail becomes a bit more difficult at the bottom with steps, wurzeon, rocks and tight curves. The panorama is great along the entire trail.

As already described by many, this trail is only recommended downhill and with more advanced driving skills. The sometimes very large, loose stones are a bit treacherous. Despite the rather large steps and blocky sections, more than 95% is rideable with the right choice of line. The most important thing: You don't have to fear falling to your death all the time, as is often the case with this type of trail. We had a lot of fun.
