In the south of Lake Ammersee lies the large nature reserve "Ammersee South Shore Bird Sanctuary." It covers an area of 499 hectares and is a true hotspot of biodiversity. It is a Ramsar wetland site of international importance and is designated as a European Natura 2000 bird sanctuary.

A large gathering of storks can often be seen on the path just before Raisting on the large meadow in front of the village. In the large number an unusual highlight, which absolutely must be photographed.

The Kiental Gorge is a deeply cut stream valley that is very easy to walk on (a wide path), but is also very rustic and natural. Above all, the loose pebbles on the slopes form beautiful formations, as they break off again and again. This results in some impressive caves.
