You can immortalize yourself in the guest book of Germany's lowest point at 3.54 meters below zero. The place itself is unspectacular, but clean.

A bathing lake with several bays and small beaches. Benches invite you to a picnic. Rubbish bin and emergency telephone available. Dogs are not allowed in the lake.

Nice shore paths and with a bathing area. Unfortunately, the latter is home to unpleasant clientele - as is often the case when larger towns are nearby.

Since March 2013, the former Bundeswehr training area in Nordoe and immediately adjacent areas in the area of the municipalities of Dägeling, Kremperheide and Breitenburg have been a 407 large nature reserve. The Nature Conservation Foundation, together with the communities involved, wants to permanently protect the "inland dunes of Nordoe" on an area of 407 hectares.
