The Minneburg is an impressive castle ruin in the Neckar Valley, near Neckargerach. It sits atop a wooded hillside and offers a fantastic view over the Neckar Valley. The castle was probably built in the 12th century and reached its heyday in the 16th century, when it was remodeled in the Renaissance style. The legend surrounding the Minneburg is particularly fascinating: The name is said to originate from Minna von Horneck, who sought refuge here out of love for a knight.

The barbecue and rest area is beautifully located in the forest and invites you to linger. In addition to the grill, there are various benches (some of which are covered) and a fountain. The route from Zimmerhof to the barbecue area is really very beautiful and leads past the stream, through the forest and past the Sommersbacher mill with its game reserve.

Great path above the Neckar towards Margarethenschlucht. From here you have a beautiful view of the Neckar loop. Not far away (just before the entrance to the gorge) you also have a good view of the Guttenbach lock.
