A high-altitude pass between Bavona and Formazza, it marks the southern end of the Basodino Group. A marked, rocky path leads from the Piano delle Creste mountain hut to the pass. On the western side, the pass is usually reached from Riale via Lago Nero or directly from the valley floor near Canza.

This pass is located at 2,323 meters above sea level. It is also known as Guriner Furka or Passo di Bosco. It establishes the border between Italy and Switzerland, between Piedmont and the Canton of Ticino. A stone's throw from the hill there is an enchanting lake.

The Bocchetta Canova is a mountain pass in the canton of Ticino. The top of the pass is at an altitude of 2226 meters. The pass connects the villages of Giumaglio and Brione. It is easy to master (T2 path with moderate ascents/descents).
