호숫가의 대부분은 숲으로 둘러싸여 있어 호수가 매우 자연적이고 조용합니다. 이곳은 슈테른베르거 진란트 자연공원(Sternberger Seenland)에 위치하며 숲, 초원, 그리고 다른 작은 호수들이 있는 매력적인 구릉 지대의 일부입니다. 이 호수는 특히 평화와 자연을 찾는 사람들에게 적합합니다. 발트해나 메클렌부르크 대호수와 같은 대중적인 관광지는 아닙니다.

"Fern Oak on the Gänsemarkt This is a rare, accidentally grown variety (mutation) of the native English oak (Ouercus ruhur). Its sinuous, slit leaves are typical. The occurrence of a fern oak was first documented in 1855 in southern Germany and in 1864 in France. It cannot be propagated by seed. Around 1920, a fern oak cutting was grafted onto the English oak at this location. The graft bulge is still visible. Coming from Neubukow, you walk directly past the fish ladder. A display board provides various information. Diagonally opposite, the path leads along the edge of the field to the beautiful Hellbachtal.

When walking around the Neuklostersee there are many places from which you can enjoy a beautiful view over the entire lake.

Behind the old water mill you come to the Hellbach, to which a beautifully designed fish ladder leads. An interesting fish ladder paves the way for the fish upstream.

In the north-east of the Wismar Bay lies the Salzhaff, scenically embedded in a chain of hills from the Ice Age. Together with the offshore Wustrow peninsula and an approximately one kilometer wide strip of mainland, it has been part of the "Coastal Landscape Wismar Bay" conservation area with a size of 2022 hectares since 1990.

A fish ladder was built next to the mill pond so that the fish can move upstream.

Here, on the so-called Wallberg, a Slavic castle was built in 1219 and expanded into a protective castle in 1230/31. Up to four ramparts surrounded the castle on this 50m high hill. Only the ramparts remain of the castle, which was demolished in the 17th century after it had fallen into disrepair. The whereabouts of the stones are unknown. On the hill is now the so-called Thingplatz, a fairground. See Figure 1 for more details about the castle.
