The Boberg Dune heathland is a fascinating nature reserve in Hamburg. It's known for its unique shifting dunes, surrounded by heathland and marsh meadows. This dune landscape was formed by regular winds on the northern bank of the former Elbe river valley and now provides a refuge for rare insects, small animals, and plants. The area is ideal for hiking and offers various circular trails where you can explore the diverse landscape. The heathland is particularly impressive during the flowering season. In addition to the dunes, there's also a bathing lake, a glider airfield, and a toboggan run, making the area a popular destination for day trips.

The Billetal nature reserve is located on the western edge of the Sachsenwald forest. Numerous, truly idyllic hiking trails meander along the river, which is cool even in summer. The Bille provides a habitat for brown trout and grayling. Surrounded by alluvial forests, wet meadows and tall herbaceous meadows, the area is home to numerous plant and animal species. The old beech forests along the valley slopes are particularly beautiful.
