Here you can take a nice break right by the Aa river. Next to the fish ladder, there's a path down to a small promontory where dogs can easily get into the water – which is frequently used.

The fish ladder at the hydroelectric power station is explained in detail here. It is obscured that fish always choose the direct path, as studies show and turbines make mush out of swimming fish. So fish ladders are not at all for fish, but primarily for people who want to believe that green hydroelectric power is fish-friendly.

Look at the hydroelectric plant, a relatively large structure and today (mid-April) it only supplied enough electricity for 3 kettles. (Energy transition is difficult) A comparison with the fish ladder at the ironworks also shows how much the requirements have changed due to nature conservation.
