커뮤니티 팁

Region Freising

6월 11, 2025, Neufahrner Mühlseen

The Mühlseen recreation area is very popular with young and old and consists of four lakes with a variety of uses. The 17.2-hectare swimming lake (Mühlsee) features spacious lawns with numerous shady spots, a swimming island with a water slide, and a kiosk. If you're feeling hungry or thirsty, a visit to the "Mooswirt am See" restaurant is also recommended.

The Korbinian linden tree was an important tree in Freising that was closely linked to the veneration of Saint Korbinian. Legend has it that Saint Korbinian, the first bishop of Freising, planted a linden tree at this spot. Over the centuries, this tree became a symbol of the city and the saint. The linden tree stood near today's Korbinian fountain on Weihenstephan Hill. In 1720, the Korbinian Chapel, also dedicated to the saint, was built over the spring. The chapel was designed by the Asam brothers and was considered an architectural jewel. Unfortunately, it was largely demolished during secularization in 1803; only a few remains of the walls remained. Today, the ruins of the Korbinian Chapel and the Korbinian fountain remind us of the historical significance of this place. The area can be reached via walking paths on the Weihenstephan slope, and a staircase leads from the Hofgarten down to the Korbinian fountain. Visitors can view the remains of the chapel and experience the spring attributed to the saint. The Korbinian linden tree itself no longer exists, but its history lives on in the stories and veneration of Saint Korbinian in Freising. The place remains an important testimony to the religious and cultural history of the city.

The world forest is actually worth a walk in every season. Sure, the mood is different in winter, but that also applies to other times. Do we really need such seasonal highlights?

It is always worthwhile to visit the Weltwald, whether on foot or by bike. Tip for the cyclists: on the weekends - many visitors, so be careful on the narrow paths. Otherwise, free travel in the evening!

The world forest is worth a detour in every season. Since plants from all over the world were brought together here, each season of the year shows a different section from its most beautiful side. But even so, you will find beautifully maintained paths and all kinds of things to discover for young and old guests.

Even in the winter months, a walk through the wintry world forest is worthwhile, especially at temperatures below zero 🙂

Hike to the snowy Himalayas and then dive into the snowy world of the Rocky Mountains? Just come to the Freisinger Weltwald during the winter months to feel transported directly into the icy cold of the regions. For around four and a half kilometers you walk past giant sequoia trees, thick-stemmed bald cypresses and snow-covered Japanese umbrella firs. Winter themed paths lead you from continent to continent and the associated gardens also give you cultural insights into the home of the trees in a playful way.
