The “Goldens Bründl” is a spring that was first mentioned in 1385. According to legend, there is a golden ring at the bottom of the spring. Rudolf von Habsburg is said to have received this from a mermaid. Legend also says that people who have never lied can see the ring at the bottom of the spring.

Nice place to jump into the water, well paved, but very narrow in places. Drive carefully!

In the middle of the Danube Park is the Irissee, which was renaturalized in 1993. Amidst all the hustle and bustle around it, it is a real piece of “Vienna wilderness”.

In 1993, the Iris Lake in the Danube Park in the 22nd district of Donaustadt, which is lined with old poplar trees, was renaturalized. The extracted and oxygen-enriched groundwater now flows through it. Rushes, swan flowers, cattails and other plants form a biological sewage treatment plant (oxygen supply through natural processes). The treated water is finally discharged underground into the New Danube near the Brigittenau Bridge. Under certain water conditions (water level, current) the discharged water can be seen bubbling on the surface of the New Danube. The facility is managed by WGM, Vienna Water Management, on behalf of the City of Vienna. The Iris Bridge leads over the Iris Lake. In the immediate vicinity are the Korean Cultural Center, the mosaic "In the Café" by Helmut Leherb and the sculpture group "The Golden Calf" by Karl Anton Wolf.
