The climb to the Furkajoch (not to be confused with the Swiss Furka Pass) from Rankweil is wonderful, relatively quiet and offers plenty of views, altitude and Alpine panorama.

Furkajoch is always cool. The route to Bad Laterns is relatively easy and, especially in spring when the road is still closed from Bad Laterns onward, fairly quiet.

A challenging and scenic climb divided into three parts: First, you tackle a steep climb on a route that partially leads through tunnels. The middle section is more relaxed, before you can really push yourself for the final stage. Excellent asphalt and an average gradient of 6 percent.
