Really great hike for the whole family, everyone involved should be sure-footed, at the highest point of the hike you will be rewarded with a fantastic backdrop. Definitely a highlight!

Beautiful easy hike around the two lakes, especially in the fall. Suitable for pushchairs. It's a bit uphill to the rear lake. Also for cyclists. Possibility to stop at the front lake in the Langbathsee-Stüberl. Open daily from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., self-service. Large PP at the front lake. Approx. 9 km from Ebensee. Other hiking opportunities: approx. 1 km before the large PP Jageralm-PP. From there ascent to the front Signalkogel and on to the rear Signalkogel. Descent to the rear lake. And a difficult hike over the Schafluckensteig to the Brunnkogel. The two lakes can also be reached from the Großalm bus stop in Neukirchen near Altmünster.

The local recreation area and hiking paradise on Gmunden's local mountain offers a cozy way to enjoy the wonderful view over Lake Traunsee from the summit! Thanks to the barrier-free Grünberg cable car, the almost 600 meters in altitude to the Grünberg can be overcome comfortably and without effort. At the summit you can also expect offers such as the 1.4 km long summer toboggan run, which proudly bears the name "Grünberg-Flitzer", the simple panoramic circular route, the hiking trail to Lake Laudach, nestled between Grünberg and the majestic Traunstein, or a cozy place to stop for a break in the " Grünbergalm”. The adventure playground and the low ropes course on the Grünberg plateau is a paradise for children at an altitude of almost 1,000 meters. The large children's playground is located directly below the Grünbergalm's extended terrace and viewing platform and leaves nothing to be desired. Paragliders and hang gliders take off to lofty heights from the launch site on Grünberg, in the immediate vicinity of Grünbergalm. The beautiful Salzkammergut offers fantastic views from the mountain to the valley. Head to the treetops on the Grünberg treetop path! - The unique natural experience in the Salzkammergut The highlight of the 1,400 meter long path is the 39 meter high observation tower with a breathtaking view over the entire Salzkammergut, from Traunsee to Dachstein.

Vorderer Langbathsee (1.1 km long, 400 m wide, approx. 36 m deep) nature reserve at the foot of the Höllengebirge mountains, crystal-clear water with drinking water quality; free natural bathing beaches, the state of Upper Austria has bought the 4000 m² property on the Vorderen Langbathsee and is making it available to the population as a free public sunbathing area with access to the lake (the Langbathseestüberl restaurant is on the right). Excellent mountain scenery and circular hiking trails, former hunting lodge of Emperor Franz Josef, mountain bike trail, also ideal for jogging (there are 8 km of running trails around both lakes). Average sea temperature 22° - 25° C. Dogs are not allowed in the bathing areas, walking around the lakes with four-legged friends is permitted (with a leash or a muzzle).
