The Weissmies is the highest peak of the Weissmies/Lagginhorn/Fletschhorn trio. It is listed on the new maps at only 4017 m; previously, the elevation was given as 4023 m. The six meters of elevation loss is due to the melting of the summit cap, which is made entirely of ice. In return, the secondary peak to the southeast of the highest point (formerly P. 3965) has been upgraded by seven meters to 3972 m.

Our second visit to Saas Fee after almost 7 years. The atmosphere without "traffic" is something, but at least it can be implemented relatively well at the end of the valley because there is no through traffic. The place itself has a lot to offer, with the old farm buildings near the parking garage. Like almost every well-known place in the Alps, Saas Fee also has various mountain railways and therefore plenty of excursion destinations to offer in summer and winter. But it should be really lively in the winter - we were there both times in the summer and it was pretty quiet, almost a little dead.
