Each of the summit crosses that hikers often encounter in the mountains, whether or not it depicts the body of the crucified Christ, invites passersby to a brief spiritual pause. Perhaps one or another will be able to encounter God here in a short prayer. The reservoir has a capacity of 135,000 m3 and is 14 m deep at its deepest point.

On the southern slope below the Hohe Salve, surrounded by alpine meadows, lies the Hohe Salve reservoir. It's a true gem, with loungers, benches, and a water playground for children. From here, you can enjoy a fantastic view, as long as you don't wander into the clouds.

From there you have a magnificent view in good weather.

A fantastic alpine panorama with a lake, and on the sunny side. What more could you want? Every meter of the climb is worth it.

My absolute highlight, in addition to the summit cross and the great mountains, was the Gernalm! Great service, delicious bread, delicious homemade fruit brandy, fresh milk and a super nice host! And all that for a great price. ONLY RECOMMENDED!!!
