According to legend, Crown Princess Olga of Württemberg and her entourage hid at this spot during the revolutionary turmoil of 1848. This legend, however, has been disproven. What is true is that in 1868, the then district forester, Belzer, had an inscription carved into the rock face on the occasion of the queen's birthday: "God save Olga!" This festival was celebrated with music, performances by the Mainhardt Liederkranz (Mainhardt Choir), a celebratory poem by the teacher von Lachweiler, and with "crowds of visitors from the surrounding area."

The lake is really beautiful and idyllic. It exudes an incredible sense of peace. Swimming is not allowed.

In addition to a classic kiosk range of ice cream and drinks, the lake terraces also offer a selection of small, warm dishes and homemade cakes: Schnitzel & fries Currywurst & red grilled sausage Hamburger Cheese bread Homemade cakes & various coffee specialties Iced coffee & iced chocolate Breakfast In addition to the around 100 seats outside, there are around 20 seats inside. Some of the lake terraces are also covered and offer a dry place in the event of a light shower. Pedal boats can be rented from the kiosk on the lake terrace. You can take a leisurely ride across the lake with the pedal boats.

The Gleichen Lake lies on the edge of the Swabian-Franconian Forest Nature Park and is located in the municipality of Pfedelbach in the Hohenlohe district at 422 m above sea level. NN. The Gleichen Lake shows all natural siltation belts from open water to the reed stands, large and small sedge meadows to the initial stages of raised bog formation. There are three small islands in it. The water is a maximum of 2 m deep, the length of the dam is around 210 m and the water area covers around 13,000 m². It got its name from the village of Gleichen. The Volkersbach rises from the same lake.
