Where smelting used to take place around the clock and according to all the rules of the art, today, after a short climb, you can enjoy one of the most breathtaking views of the landscape park, Duisburg and the entire western Ruhr area. The blast furnace and its viewing platform are free, open all year round and around the clock, except in the event of snow, storms and ice. By the way: The blast furnace is part of the Hüttenwerk monument, where you can also learn all sorts of things about the industry of the Ruhr area thanks to an industrial history circular route.

Even if it's a little strenuous: definitely climb it! I've been up there several times - it's always an experience. Particularly impressive and unforgettable is, of course, taking part in a torchlight tour with a climb to the blast furnace at night!

Since 1999, the BergArena has offered seating for nearly 800 people in an amphitheater. Among other things, "The Threepenny Opera" was performed there in 2002. Events are held there regularly.

Attention, these paths are bridle paths!! There are always riders with their horses here. It can be life-threatening for riders if you shoot down these paths with your bikes. Horses panic and flee!
