A hall church with a three-sided east end, the core of which dates back to the 14th century, rebuilt in 1850. The turret features a slated spire. Inside, there's a trumpeting angel and a seated figure of Christ or John the Baptist, although these were set aside due to woodworm infestation.

The Gera Orangery is a late baroque two-wing complex in the former kitchen garden of the younger line of the Princes of Reuss. The orangery and greenhouse were built between 1729 and 1732 and in 1748/49 according to plans by the Princely Saxon State Architect Gottfried Heinrich Krohne. In the course of an eventful history, it served as a hospital and stable, a gymnasium and a bar, and most recently as the home of the Gera Art Association. Since 1972, the Orangery has housed the Gera Art Collection.

The gallery area presents important works from the artist's youth and early paintings to old master paintings from the artist's own collection, which are supplemented by important permanent loans from the Otto Dix Foundation in Vaduz.

Great castle in good condition. Cannot be visited.
