At 859 meters, the Burghorn is the highest point on the Lägerngrat. From here, you can enjoy spectacular panoramic views: to the south over the Limmat Valley to the Alps 🏔️, and to the north into the Surb Valley and the Aargau Jura 🌳 – a perfect place for a break with a view!

The wooden footbridge was pulled into place by a fallen tree during the last flood. It is still not accessible.

When the water level is high, the jetty is often flooded. The water masses are raging! This time it hit the jetty. Damaged by a fallen tree trunk.

A wonderful stage on the way to the Linden tree in Linn. I am always impressed by the conditions under which transport was possible at that time.

Here you are in the water castle area of Switzerland. A few meters downstream, the Limmat flows into the Aare. A few hundred meters upstream, the Reuss flows into the Aare. The Reuss and the Limmat flow into the Aare on the right bank. It is always nice to stop here, and every time you see a different picture.

Partly quite narrow path, but well developed.

At the beginning (as you go up the mountain) the Roman Road hiking trail leads along the Old Roman Road (which was then the connection from Augusta Raurica to Vindonissa). Only when you reach the rocky ground do you hike along the old Roman road.

You can step over this small bridge, switch off, watch the water masses... That's where the Limmat meets the Aare. The ducks that live here offer you a relaxed game with the rushing water. Like a kitty corner for the ducks!!! And for us an oasis of well-being. Welcome!
