Super fun to do - just not if you are a beginner. The first part is insanely great. Nice bends and minor jumps. The climb back up is not as nice - not just because of the climb, but still highly recommending!

The Veluwezoom Visitor Centre is the ideal starting point to discover the nature reserve. Ample parking is provided for visitors by car. You can also visit and admire an exhibition of plants and animals in the National Park in the Veluwezoom Visitor Centre. Don't forget to visit the adjacent native garden.

Why is an MTB route now a cycling (!) highlight???

When I see this bridge, I know I'm in for some beautiful forest trails.

The Schaarsbergen route is an absolute playground, full of curves and more height difference than you would think. The constant technical steering, climbing and descending feels good on your legs as you move through a beautiful forest. The route is not inferior to an average mountain bike route on the Utrechtse Heuvelrug. The volunteers of MTB Veluwe Zuid did a good job! The route can easily be combined with other routes of MTB Veluwe Zuid (Arnhem, Ede, etc.) and the Natuurmonumenten Rheden route on the Veluwezoom. Although someone who can steer well would dare to do this on a gravel bike, I would mainly do this with an MTB because of the technical degree.
