Fresh spring water & a small sandy beach

Gripsholms Hjorthage is a game park and nature reserve near Gripsholm Castle in Södermanland County, Sweden. The wild pasture is characterized by many old oak trees. The area has long been used as pastureland and as a game park since the late 19th century.

We found a great spot here 😍 Many lovely places to swim in the summertime with stunning views overlooking the water. The path could have had the trailsigns closer together on the hike, but with maps and komoot it was not a problem. Several trails merge, so the signs color change.

There is a perfect spring there to fill up bottles.

Nice reserve to walk in, small loop of 2.5 km in the forest and along the water. Parking is free and limited to 72h, which gives time to explore outside the reserve.

A nice place to take a bath on a MTB tour

The small lake Bårsjön that is mostly covered with floating plants and the area is rich in frogs, birds and home to a lot of rare red-listed plants like the Herzogiella Moss. Ideal place to take a break and listen to/observe the nature.
