During an extensive visit to the Gallic fortress of Binracte, the beautifully mossy beech trees are especially worth seeing. Beautiful specimens can be admired especially around the old fortress wall. You do have to leave the footpath at the right time and climb down. But then it's really fun!

Mont Beuvray is also known as the ancient Oppidum of the Gallic town of Bibracte. It is not only a remarkable archaeological site, but also a place of splendid nature with both an exceptional view and a magical forest of twisting beech trees. You can take a culinary break on site at the Le Chaudron restaurant, which will concoct typical Gallic dishes, inspired by ancient recipes.
