The way to get there is essentially on the road but it is almost deserted and the view of the gorges is sublime.

Not easy to reach and there is also a difficult vertical section after that - but it's worth it 👍

This stone was engraved in the 6th century to recall the passage of Dadanus, a powerful man. This Christian, correspondent of Saint-Augustin and prefect of Gaul, had come to retire to Saint-Geniez to found a “City of God” in the valley.

Very little traveled road. Magnificent panorama.

The Vançon descends from the Monges massif and flows into the Durance shortly downstream of Sisteron. From here we have splendid views of the gorges!

The summit offers a panoramic view of the Écrins massif and the Ubaye valley. Spectacular !

Located at 2,115 meters, Les Monges is the highest point of the Digne Pre-Alps and offers beautiful views of the region. The hike from Esparron is varied and is done along the Lac des Monges, through the forest and the mountain pastures.
