The girl's father opposed any relationship between the two lovers. Despite his prohibition, they decided to marry. Enraged, the bride's father entered the church where the ceremony was taking place. Armed with a saber, he intended to kill this unacceptable son-in-law. The couple managed to escape into the valley, but the bride slipped and fell from the mountain. Her veil caught on the wall, giving the Bridal Veil Waterfall its name.
