It's a lovely walk, with a beautiful, varied forest. Because of the heat (35°C), we limited ourselves to the section through the woods. Because it was very dry, that was also possible. Even the half-circle walk was worth it.

On this section of the Rhône-Rhine canal, the cycle path is bordered by cliffs. It is a very pretty passage, with a few picnic spots.

This route is one of the most beautiful parts, but I recommend cycling the entire canal.

Literally every part of the hundreds of kilometers-long trails along the Rhine-Rhône canal is wonderful. Most follows the dedicated paved tow path of the canal, which in some sections is in the navigable portions of the river Doubs and later Saône through idyllic rural areas and pleasant towns. Here the walls of the canyon are steep and closely approach the trail, giving an idea how the river cut its bed through the rock over millennia.
