The ascent to Piz Danis is marked white-red-white, so good hiking boots, surefootedness and physical fitness are required. The exposed areas on the ascent are secured with fixed steel cables, which make the ascent or descent easier on the tricky passages. Once you have reached the summit, you will be rewarded with a fantastic panoramic view.

The view from the Glaser Grat into the mountains and the two valleys, on the left into the Safiental and on the right into the Domleschg and Val Schons, is fantastic and overwhelming.

The mountain path is quite challenging in places and good footwear is essential. Short sections are secured with ropes and the steps are quite high. If you are afraid of heights, it is better to go up from the other side. It is much easier that way.

Rest area with a great panoramic view

While the ascent from the Safiental leads through steeper terrain, the slopes towards Tschappina are comparatively gentle. The view to the south is dominated by the impressive face of the Piz Beverin.
