Wonderful cycling and walking routes

The absolute highlight is watching the flamingos feeding. Make sure you bring something to magnify them (binoculars, large camera, phone zoom...). They were also visible in January.

The Natural Park of the Lagoons of La Mata and Torrevieja is a protected natural area located in the province of Alicante, in the Valencian Community. This park covers more than 3,700 hectares and is made up of two main lagoons: the Laguna de La Mata and the Laguna de Torrevieja.

From the tower you can enjoy a great panoramic view of the Laguna de La Mata and the surrounding nature reserve. remember to bring binnoculars, flamingo's visit here too, the salt lake path is approx 10 miles circular trail, wise to do this early morning or there is a bike shop in La Mata where you can hire for half a day or full. you can then follow the path to the Salt lake if Torrvieja.
