The Encherada slope is one of the official mountain bike routes on La Gomera. The beautiful route always leads along the mountain through varied vegetation. Always accompanied by a fantastic view, you can't help but be amazed. Sometimes it's San Sebastian, sometimes a beautiful valley and of course the Hammer Bilck towards Tenerife on the Teide. Spain's highest mountain is in view most of the time. The route itself leads first over asphalt and then over gravel, sand and stone slopes. Towards the end it gets a little rough and a little travel and the right tires pay off. I would definitely recommend heading to Hermigua. The other way around, you would have to climb the steep slope over the stone slope, here pushing would probably be the order of the day.

First it's off the road up to the pass and then the Encherada piste heads north for 23 km to Santa Catalina. Except for lonely hikers and every now and then a few goats you don't meet anyone here, it was always at the top of the mountains with a view down into the valleys, pure nature!

This trail starts just after the Laguna Grande parking lot. It's not a single trail but a slightly wider path, which is why mountain biking is officially allowed on this path here in the national park. Single trails up in the national park are not officially allowed, outside of the national park everywhere on La Gomera, of course...

Beautiful view of the countryside and down to the sea. The Santa Clara Trail begins a little further up at the transmitter. If you have driven this and possibly further down the Mars Trail, you can then drive back on the road and then get back to this vantage point.
