The New Gardens or Lower Gardens were designed and built between 1931 and 1951, interpreting the Muslim garden. To this end, use is made of irrigation ditches, streets limited by thick cypress hedges, rose garden arches and a pergola open to the Alhambra and the city of Granada.

In concrete terms, the park was divided into three parts that currently form the New Gardens. In 1931, the section closest to the building was laid out in the style of a garden labyrinth, with arches of roses and cypresses. In 1951 it was expanded under the direction of the architect Prieto Moreno, in an interpretation of the Muslim garden, with a crossing ditch, streets and walls lined with cypress trees, plus a pergola open to the landscape of the Alhambra and the city. Finally, in 1952, the open-air amphitheater was completed, created specifically for the Granada International Music and Dance Festival, which has been held there ever since.

The Arabic garden corresponds to the Muslim paradise. The gardens were laid out in a correspondingly beautiful way.

A tranquil, tranquil oasis in the heart of the city. Countless plants in pots, of course labeled ... here you can relax a bit.

The Termas de Santa Fe or Aguas Calientes, as the locals call them, is a space of freedom among olive groves, in the suburban park of Dehesa de Santa Fe. Here, there are some pools from which waters arise naturally, at more than 36 degrees centigrade. Given the temperature of the water at the point of emergence and its physical-chemical composition, they are considered hyperthermal, and classified as strongly mineralized, within the group of sulfated, calcium and magnesium.

The lands that act as a geological border between the Vega de Granada and the Temple, are arid, desert spaces, reminiscent of the Baza and Guadix northeast gullies. It is a land of silt, gypsum and conglomerates, in which the vegetation has had to adapt to the high concentrations of salt and the lack of water. The walls and sections show the marks left by the passage of time. Each strip is a stratum that, like a historical archive, narrates what happened in millions of years.

They currently have a fence and a guard, so bathing is no longer allowed. A shame now that it was much cleaner and more natural

The Generalife stands on the slopes of Cerro del Sol. From there you can see the entire city and the river valleys of the Genil and Darro. The meaning of the name is interpreted differently: officer's garden (Jardín del Intendente), architect's garden (Jardín del Arquitecto / del alarife), vegetable and orchard of the event organizer (Huerta del Zambrero), etc. The Generalife became a place of relaxation to which the Kings of Granada could withdraw from public palace life. This staircase from the sultan's court is a special gem in Generalife! Rippling water left and right in the stairwell makes a very pleasant atmosphere! An ingenious combination of technology, aesthetics and atmosphere!
