On the Puebla de la Sierra highway you come across this viewpoint over the Puebla river gorge. The landscape is overwhelming. The vertical walls of bare rock stand before the green ridges of the mountains and the sky. It is an ideal place to immortalize with a photograph.

From here there is a magnificent view of the valley of the La Puebla river, which flows further south into the El Atazar reservoir. It was declared a biosphere reserve by Unesco due to its rich flora and fauna.

A very well preserved dam, it is currently the oldest working dam in the entire region. The views down from the bridge across it or up the stairs from the top are amazing. It is very worth it. Just down the road is a lovely picnic spot with benches under the pine trees.

This reservoir is the oldest (still in operation) in the Community of Madrid. Construction began in 1869 and was completed in 1873, with a design that was innovative for its time. Later, a canal was created that brings water directly to the city of Madrid from this reservoir.

Passing through this stretch of track that goes uphill, the river of La Puebla is revealed at the bottom of the valley. The absence of trees makes it possible to observe the course of the current and the greenery that sprouts around the bed. The northern mountains are full of landscapes that make you question whether you are really in Madrid.

The Villar reservoir is one of the oldest civil hydrographic works in Madrid that is still in operation. The dam stands in the middle of one of the Lozoya river gorges, which makes it an ideal viewpoint. From here you can see one of the impressive bridges that are used by the operators of the Canal de Isabel II to inspect all the infrastructure that supplies water to Madrid.

The summit of Pico Porrejón is a curious exhibition of the geological components that give uniqueness to the reliefs of the Sierra del Rincón Biosphere Reserve, a compact block of metamorphic rocks of gneiss and micacite with a strong projection of quartzite and slate subjected to the Consequences of gelivation, which is a form of periglacial erosion on the rocky scree, the water enters the cracks and, due to the effect of ice-thaw, creates the striking blades, ridges and stone passageways that abound in the Ayllón massifs.
