The crossing of the Sierra del Arenal mountain range begins with the ascent to the steep Risco de las Cabrillas, used as an observatory by flocks of vultures, which is slightly to the right (south) of the track. The path runs through the extensive Andrinal pass, where the bushes complicate the run but the route is well maintained, and passes through the summit of Canto Cochino, with a milestone of the PR-AV 45, a short-distance path that connects Navarredonda de Gredos and the Port of Arenal.
