Small border crossing worth seeing

Beautiful lake promenade and very well attended when the weather is good

The Bregenz lake promenade with Lake Constance in the foreground and Pfänder in the background. A very beautiful spot in the middle of a great setting. The mile along the lake is also lively and has very good opportunities to stop for a break or just to linger by the lake and on the lake.

Crossing the border without any problems, don't forget to take ID and francs with you. Furthermore, you are leaving the EU and are therefore subject to other customs regulations.

The lake promenade is always nice to linger and you can also stop off at a restaurant. Where you can get something to eat and drink. The lake stage is a huge construction site at the moment. There are also some construction sites on the lake promenade. But the rest is nice to rest and linger.

Well signposted, the gravel path on the dam is very easy to drive on and offers a very good view. The peace and quiet is wonderful and one or two wild animals can also be seen during the day.

Before you cross from Austria to Switzerland at the wheel bridge, use the Austrian side for shopping, as it is cheaper here than in Switzerland.
