Watch out for dog walkers on this one, top half is a nice rocky tech decent into a fast flowy clay surface with sweeping views across the valley and a couple of blind corners. Best ridden early morning or early evening 6ish to avoid the majority of the walkers.

Great tester of a climb on a mountain bike (or even gravel bike if you're brave)! You'll find large, angular and chunky rocks on the trail, with a highline ridge to the right featuring more roots. Find this trail in the Sirhowy Valley Country Park, not far from the brilliantly named Wattsville. Good luck!

Brilliant wide and mellow gravel road that contours around the hillside, with some gradual ups and downs. Offers brilliant views over Cardiff and the coastline and very accessible from Cwmcarn and the MTB trails.

Classically a route for mountain bikers, this path is perfect for gaining—or losing—some quick elevation. Passable in around 25 minutes, it's a tough climb to the top where the views are worth the effort. Just be careful for those downhill riders that can be seen flying through the trees.
