All good fun - like a mini Cut Gate on the ride back!

Starts off smooth and wide then gets rutty, narrow and lots of loose rocks, not steep but really fun at pace

From the dike near the shooting range, easy grassy doubletrack descent becoming occasionally rutted and muddy. All doable with care on a gravel bike, piece of cake on MTB! You'll have to lift your bike over a gate to access the lane the joins Meltham Road. A bit of a slog on ascent, due to draggy long grass 😤

WARNING ! If you are bike backing this is not a good route. I had to push for 3.5 miles was horrific.

The trail is graded Blue for beginners and is 1.3km in length. The trail is suited to mountain bikes and care needs to be taken due to trail features such as berms, rock gardens and jumps, all of which are rollable at slow speed. Take your time on the first run and get used to the track first before picking up speed on the next loop.

This is a very popular route for MTBers heading towards Deer Hill. It is better ridden east to west as the descent is a real bone shaker in the other direction.

Oakwell hall is a purpose-built trail in Leeds is the ideal place for younger riders to hone their skills before taking on harder trails. There’s a new mountain bike trail lurking in the woods on the southern outskirts of Leeds. It’s tiny, it’s sandwiched between Ikea and the M62 motorway, but it’s important because it represents the new breed of built trails growing up all over the country. It also happens to be an absolute blast to ride. There is also very nice Memorial Garden to walk around

some sections are un-rideable on a gravel bike! defo MTB territory. Still worth a visit though
