Stanmer Park is a stunning historic woodland area that is quite literally a park for all seasons. It is simply great for mountain biking, and the Rollercoaster is the essence of a singletrack trail. Here it is all about keeping it going, keeping off the brakes, and enjoying the ride. A great bike run in a great park.

Blue graded trail and one of the steepest in Stamner Park. Small drop to start off with then into a couple of jumps.

Rooty descent from the Top of Middle Earth to the entrance to the Playground Trails. Caution required as also used as a climb by MTBs and by walkers.

Some very kind people created a little pump track in the middle of Laughton Woods, not far from the main byway and middle bridleway running north to south. The exact location is Trunnion Wood, across and a wooden plank from the middle bridleway and south of that path. Its small but fun when combined with the rest of the tracks in these woods and a larger pump track on the west side near the A22 - see my other Highlights/Segments/Routes. Some warnings - keep in mind some parts are private land, footpaths and please respect walkers. I tend to ride there in the evening or when its quite to avoid problems. If you are driving here, the nearest parking spot is Park Lane next to the main byway. The nearest refreshments/pub is the Roebuck in Laughton, south of the woods.

Bentley Woods / Halland - MTB Ride This wood is small but fun, its quite with only a few dog walkers (including me) but can be easily joined up with Laughton Woods and then over to East Hoathly or Shortage. Best time to ride this area is in the evenings and the main footpaths are fairly large, but if you are riding in the day please be careful of other users and the horses at the large stud farm north of these woods. Parking, best to park at the Forge Motel/Hotel or near by. Access to these woods is behind the Forge or by Heathfield Road/Old Heath Close. If you are looking for refreshments afterwards, I would recommend the Blacksmith Arms near the roundabout on the Lewes Road.
