Even if you don't immediately notice it in the small, pretty green, mossy house that seems to be half-sunk into the ground, it is, or rather "it was" the forerunner of today's refrigerator. The castle was built 20 meters above the ground in a natural cave approximately 20 meters wide and 6 meters deep in the Jura Mountains. The 2.4-meter-thick outer wall featured two doorways and narrow windows. The Balm castle ruins are located at the foot of the Balmfluh. These are the remains of a once imposing grotto castle. It is worthwhile to make a short stop here. There are fire pits and a small parking lot here. The castle also serves as a meeting point for mountain bike adventures. The ruin can be climbed by stairs. You can enjoy a beautiful view from above.
