No bike path, quite steep, and lots of speeding cars. You have to like that. The route through the forest is even steeper, but car-free. Coming from Kehlheim, the forest path is very steep, and you may need to push your bike.

Brand new on-road cycle path next to the district road between Unterisling and Scharmassing

The bridge, named after King Maximilian II, was completed in 1863 – the same year as the inauguration of the Hall of Liberation. Its construction was intended to ensure a reliable traffic connection, even during floods. Today, the bridge offers pedestrians and cyclists a picturesque view of the Danube and the Hall of Liberation. The changing moods are particularly impressive when morning fog lies over the river and the silhouette of the Hall of Liberation is bathed in mysterious light. From the bridge, you'll probably have the best opportunity to perfectly capture the Hall of Liberation – with the Danube as an impressive backdrop. A short stop is always worthwhile to capture this stunning view and enjoy the unique perspective!

The ascent to the Liberation Hall or further over the col de Stausacker (well, not the highlight) but the reward is then downhill afterwards.
