Møysalen is the highest point in the Lofoten and Vesterålen islands. It rises to an altitude of 1,262 meters. This location and its natural setting led to the creation of a national park named after it in 2003. The summit is particularly recognizable with its flat top.

Here you have a superb vantage point from which to admire the Møysalen glacier and Lake Øvre Møysalvatnet. The view is spectacular, as is the terrain, so enjoy it while remaining cautious.

Nestled at 494 metres (1,621 ft), Botvatnet enjoys a lovely spot among Austvågøya's peaks. It's a glorious place to stop and drink in the glacier-carved scenery. Angular mountain peaks jostle for attention, their rocky foundations breaking through the vegetation like exposed bones.

Lots of shells, nice bench seats and a fire pit

Relatively easy tour with a beautiful view. Parking in the parking bay on the main street is possible free of charge (as of 06/2023)

End of January: The snow cover was so high, hiking was not possible, unfortunately.

That would be a place to stay. Unfortunately, it was still too early in the day for me. There is hardly any traffic on the road above. Very quiet.

If you have enjoyed the wonderful view and continue on the circular hiking trail, you will inevitably pass an idyllically situated mountain lake, where you can take a wonderful rest and jump into the cool water is also possible!
