Great flowing trail that can be ridden away from the Mendel Pass

Brand new itinerary on well-maintained dirt roads that crosses the stretch of Val di Non halfway up the mountain between Passo Palade, in the province of Bolzano, and Mostizzolo, at the entrance to Val di Sole. A fantastic 57 km itinerary accessible to all to discover the natural and cultural wonders of the Val di Non which crosses the municipalities of: Senale San Felice, Castelfondo, Brez, Cloz, Romallo, Revò, Cagno, Rumo, Livo, Bresimo and Cis.

The entry into the Old Mendel Trail is quite difficult and has recently been closed to bikers. The new Mendel Trail has been expanded further down. Depending on the heavy rain, the first section is a bit steeply blocked. Otherwise manageable for a reasonably good S1 driver.

07.09.2021 - S2 difficulty definitely justified. Definitely doable on flat pedals. It wasn't a pleasure for me with clickies - much too slippery due to loose stones. Otherwise it would have been really doable and fun.

The trail was converted into a path in 2019. It now has no more steps. It is about 2m wide and still quite steep. The surface is very rough with stones up to 15cm. Easily mobile with the fat bike. Possible with normal tires, but rather uncomfortable. The last 150hm are not known to me.
