Climbing above Vallombrosa to reach "La Consuma," after a climb through the woods, you cross the Croce Vecchia pass, from there you descend to the village of Momtemugnaio. From there, you can choose to head left toward La Consuma (we were forced to choose this option) or right, continuing down toward Casentino, thus avoiding the busy Via della Consuma. On this tour, this option was not possible because the road on the right was closed, presumably due to a landslide.

Wonderful road, steady climb with short stretches in double figures but the view and the sound of the river repay. It takes you to the last 2 km of climb to reach the Consuma pass... the peace of that climb amplifies the traffic that instead there is to reach the Consuma.

Passable road towards Valdarno

Go up to the Sugame pass and descend towards Figline Valdarno. Alternatively, after a few kilometers of descent, you can keep left and go up towards Strada.
