The Baggero oasis is two beautiful lakes created from old excavations of the Merone cement plant. You can walk the entire ring that surrounds the two lakes, there is a playground and a hostel. The best times to go are spring and autumn, when it's not too hot. Ultimately it is a place worth visiting, especially on foot.

The Baggero Oasis is the result of the environmental recovery of a large area previously used for mining, located between the municipalities of Merone, Monguzzo, Lambrugo and Lurago d'Erba. Started in 1970, the redevelopment process led to the creation of two lakes in old marl extraction excavations. The area offers pedestrian paths, cycle paths, a children's play area and an innovative Stellar Oasis for astronomical observation. The old cement plant warehouse was converted into a "Park Center" inaugurated in 2015, equipped with classrooms, conference room and a hostel with bar/refreshment area. The Baggero Oasis is also a starting point for exploring the Lambro Valley Park, offering initiatives to experience and discover the natural beauty of the area. It is located in Merone, with access from via Cesare Battisti.

The Fontana del Guercio Reserve in Carugo, Como, has 14 springs, potentially of Celtic origin, with the Testa del Nan among the main Lombard fountains. The reserve includes woodlands, agricultural areas and is a refuge for various botanical and animal species, in particular the crayfish, giving it the status of Site of Community Interest. Accessible via trekking paths and cycle paths, the reserve can be reached by car or bus from the Como–Inverigo–Cantù line, starting from via Valsorda, near the hamlet of Sant'Isidoro – Carugo.

To see the illuminated Cross I left at 4.20pm from the Alpe del Vicerè car park. At 5.15pm I reached the top of Mount Bollettone keeping a good pace and a few minutes later it lit up! To go down you need a front panel even if the road is easily passable

Alpe del Vicerè is the place where numerous excursions start, including one of the most classic in the entire Como area, Monte Bolettone.

Rest area with charging station

Mount Bollettone (or Bolettone) is located at an altitude of 1,317 meters. Bollettone is one of the first peaks of the famous ridge of the Como triangle. The summit is also easily recognizable from the Po valley thanks to its unmistakable row of fir trees.
