great satisfaction to get there by bike. consider that there is some portage.

The starting point is at the base of another climb, that of Madonna del Bosco, the maximum gradients are 8% but only for short stretches, otherwise it does not exceed 5/6%. The length is 1.4 km and at the top there is the iconic fountain. From this point you can choose whether to continue uphill (left on via San Sebastiano but harder) or, straight on the sweet and panoramic via Marieni to then have fun towards other branches that will not disappoint.

Perhaps in front of this imposing small sacred monument, which the hiker encounters here in the form of a summit cross, a few short sentences from Pope Francis are of interest (address of April 5, 2024): "Feel called (...) to bring into the Church and into the world a little of that immense love that compelled Jesus to die on the cross for us. May the familiar closeness to Him make you, as it was with Francis [of Assisi], ever more humble, united, joyful and essential, in love for the cross and in attention to the poor, witnesses of peace and prophets of hope in this time of ours, which has so much difficulty in recognizing the presence of the Lord." At 895 meters, the peak of Monte Ubione is one of the most famous and popular among hikers in the Bergamo Prealps. From here you can enjoy splendid views of the Imagna Valley and the Brembana Valley.

I've been there many times seeing how easy it is to get there. Steep but short path from the parking lot of the former Pighet restaurant. Nice simple walk from Maresana or a training and tiring climb from Ranica.

Starting from the Ex pighet car park it is a short walk of 10 minutes maximum 15. The view is worth it, there are picnic tables nearby.

A place that suddenly appears, suddenly changing the landscape.

The last few hundred meters are decidedly impracticable both for climbing and descending. Steps and protruding rocks. The effort of carrying the bike on your shoulder is amply rewarded by the view that sweeps across the plain, Valle Imagna (from Roncola to Resegone), the lower Valle Brembana (Zogno, Sant'Antonio Abbandonato and Sedrina) and its peaks.
