I didn't see anything other than mist today. Too bad, can't always be lucky. Is the correct name Punta Rumelletta? That's what the sign said.

I visited in spring when there was a lot of snow, so unfortunately the carvings in the rock were buried by the snow.

It's nice to imagine a Shaman...with magic powders, liquids...smoke and songs to gain the good will of some unlikely Deity...

Balmascura Cave Inside a precious spring of water flows constantly. In front of the cave, about 20 meters away, the majestic balconies with engraved domes of the Massi Isoardi begin, above the cave there are numerous engraved domes. The second anthropomorphic specimen discovered in the immediate vicinity of this cave suggests that in that distant time it was the home of the shaman (or the) shaman or priest or “king” who succeeded one another in these places and were most likely the creators of those many domes and figures present on the site. WARNING, it is not an archaeological site, it's a natural formation, very interesting and special but has a natural origin. The Archaeological superintendency confirmed that. Nonetheless is a beautiful place.

Archaeological area with limited access

Summit easily reachable on a path that cuts through meadows and grazing cows. The summit cross is similar to the nearby Punta Ostanetta, and from both peaks there is a beautiful view of Monviso

Departure from the sanctuary of Sant'Anna. 2h and 20 to get up, walking with a calm step. I recommend taking the left fork on the outward journey (less steep) and going down the steepest path on the way back. Immediately below the village of Sant'Anna there is a highly recommended hotel restaurant. Delicious aperitif, magnificent view and super welcome!
