This large plateau is indicated in cartography with the toponym “la Montagnola” (196 m above sea level), but it is commonly called “the roof of the world” for its splendid panoramic view. In the month of May the entire area is filled with yellow broom flowers, which accompany the walk on the Sentiero Ripe di Casteldimezzo up to Vallugola. In some places there are still the remains of a past presence of man, who carried out agricultural activities also on the seaward side of the promontory. It is a magical but also very delicate place, close to the living cliff, where the visitor is asked to pay maximum attention and show the greatest respect for the places. The Rain Forest, a suggestive fountain that dominates Piazzale Roma, a tribute to the rain and the coolness that it brings with it, but also a reference to fishing and the sea, with six large columns of stratified natural glass holding up seven fishing nets from which it drips the rain, producing a musical clicking sound.
