Legend has it that the fortress of Maioletto and the village below were destroyed by a landslide, which tradition indicates occurred between 29 and 30 May 1700 as divine punishment for an "angelic dance held within the castle walls".

We are located at the Trabocchino Pass, at an altitude of 1300 metres. This pass is located in a picturesque depression, offering an ideal panoramic point from which to admire Carpegna and the Mutino valley. In this area several paths intersect, including CAI paths 101, 102 and 104.

The path from Passo Cantoniera to Sasso Simone is not always accessible, as part of the path is located inside the Military Range of Carpegna.
