The "vulcanino" (actually a methane gas leak that is kept burning) is nice, but what makes this place beautiful is the panoramic setting.

The Chiusa di Ladino is an artificial dam that creates a waterfall with several pools of water. These pools are suitable for swimming in the summer, provided there is no extreme drought. The Chiusa di Ladino plays an important role in serving the Romiti canal.

Monte Busca, located near Tredozio, is known as the smallest "volcano" in Italy. However, it is not a real volcano. It is a perpetual flame powered by an emission of methane gas that, in contact with oxygen, remains constantly lit. This flame has been active since before 1500.

The one on the top of Monte Busca is not a volcano: the perennial flames that emerge from the small opening in the ground are due to a spontaneous release of hydrocarbons (mainly methane), which takes the name of "burning fountain". Very suggestive at sunset/evening :-)

It is not a real volcano, but a perennial flame fueled by the emission of gaseous hydrocarbons which, in contact with oxygen, remain perpetually lit. The flames coming out of the ground, in the middle of an uncultivated field.

Unfortunately, following the flood of May 2023, much of the pedestrian cycle along the river, between Forlì (Urban Park) and Castrocaro (Park), is not accessible by bicycle or, with difficulty, on foot. The unusable section also includes the one facing the Ladino lock

Challenging and beautiful ride

The saddle can be reached via a short and easy single track from the Pietramora castle, and opens onto large meadows that can be easily traveled even off the track. At the top is the boundary stone of the papal state
