Falconara Albanese is, as the name suggests, one of the arbëreshë villages of Calabria. The village is really beautiful, with a quaint feel. Castellucio, an imposing monolithic boulder, dominates the landscape in a surprising way.

Beautiful place on the crest of the Paolama chain, between Cosenza and the sea, where you can experience the unspoiled nature of Calabria.

Walking along the Sentiero Italia and the Sentiero dei Viandanti you come across this pretty little lake, the perfect place for a break.

Along the ridge that from San Martino di Finita climbs towards Serra Petrulla, after a few hundred meters upstream of the town is this clearing of "monumental" chestnut trees and I am not exaggerating, believe me. Excluding the Salavruni di Grisolia (which are few plants) and the giants of Monte Pesco (which are a mixed monumental forest) they are the most beautiful monumental clearing I have ever seen, even better than the Clearing of Località Crello di Fagnano Castello which is also a Natura2000 site .

The wood of Mavigliano is a special protection area falling within those of Natura 2000. On this site there is the great Mavigliano oak. One of the largest monumental English oaks in Italy
