The shortest ascent is via the La Berra cable car from La Roche. From the mountain station it is less than 90 meters in altitude to the summit with the pyramid, which is one of Switzerland's triangulation points (fixed points for measuring Switzerland). These 80 or so pyramids were built between 1884 and 1970. About 60 of them still exist today. They are also shown on the 25, 50 and 100,000 scale maps, with a triangle and a dot in the middle. We took the funicular and cable car to the top, and you are greater with an amazing view. It is an easy climb to the top of Le Moleson, and well worth the detour. The first part of the hike down is steep, with some loose rubble,. The route does get easier and then you are treated to lovely fresh smells whilst walking through the trees and the flowers are colourful.

Absolutely worth seeing little town, I would stay here to be able to enjoy it without too many tourists!
