            Picturesque Gruyères lies at the foot of the Pre-Alps in the canton of Fribourg. The car-free village, the cobblestone streets and the fountain invite you to take a leisurely stroll. Incidentally, the medieval town gave its name to the La Gruyère region and the tasty cheese, Gruyère AOP.

            There are four museums to choose from: Gruyere Castle, which towers majestically over the town, the museum and bar of the artist H.R. Giger with the fantastic works of the creator of Alien, the Tibet Museum and La Maison du Gruyère.

            A large number of traditional and cozy restaurants offer the famous specialties of the La Gruyère region: fondues, rösti, chalet soup, Älplermagronen or a Kilbi menu make your mouth water.

            Enjoy a place where time seems to have stood still and which was voted the "Most Beautiful Village in French-speaking Switzerland 2014" and one of the "Best Tourism Villages" in 2021.
