Be careful, there are no more mattresses in the bivouac. A window is broken; it gets very, very cold at night. No fire pit. Don't plan to spend the night there unless it's an emergency.

From the Grimsel Pass, a single-lane road leads high above the Grimsel Reservoir to Lake Oberaar, which is also a reservoir. The view of the Alps is, in my opinion, one of the most beautiful in all of Switzerland. Please note that the road is only accessible to motorized traffic in one direction. A traffic light system at the Grimsel Pass and Lake Oberaar regulates the direction of travel. However, this is less relevant for cyclists; the road is wide enough everywhere to allow safe passage.

The Nufenen is simply brutal. Its length, height and difference in altitude make it one of the hardest passes in Switzerland, especially if you have already climbed the Gotthard and Furka.

Very idyllic, especially in the morning, few cars and a wonderful atmosphere.

The Novena pass, at an altitude of 2,478 metres, connects Valais with Ticino. In particular, it is the highest pass in Italian Switzerland, as well as the second highest in all of Switzerland, as it is only surpassed by the 2,503 meters of Umbrail. At the Novena pass there are the sources of the Ticino river.

Passo Scatta Minoia is located at 2,599 meters above sea level and marks the border between Val Formazza and Valle Devero. Here is the Ettore Conti Bivouac, which is white and red in color. The GTA, the Great Crossing of the Alps, also passes through this place.

The highest road pass entirely in Switzerland. If you are there early morning or outside of week ends and summer holidays, you will love it. Otherwise, be prepared to deal with a lot of traffic
