A hike around the donkey is recommended, but very time-consuming. Plan enough breaks. There are free-roaming cows on the mountain slopes that like to block the way. Cow dunk is a way of decorating here and there!

It is forbidden to drive up to this point "Cliffwalk am First". The only ways to get there from Grindelwald are: - Climb of almost 2 hours on foot; - By cable car (25 min). This costs 68 francs to go and return. Also the last ride down is at 17:30.

The gondola ride here is an experience in itself, and the cliff walk even more so. We were able to enjoy the view.

Beautiful in all seasons, although you have to push the bike a short distance. The waterfall is gigantic. There are always many visitors here!

It is essential to follow the T2 route. This offers an exceptional view. But requires more stamina, some very steep climbs.

Beautiful mountain lake. Unfortunately, a lot of people on the way from the First to the Bachalpsee. Crossing and driving past is not a problem, as the gravel road is wide enough. The descent via the Bachalpsee Trail and others to Grindelwald is one of the most beautiful things this region has to offer!

The Bachalpsee - widely used name for the Bachsee - is a picturesque little mountain lake on the ridge above Grindelwald in the Bernese Alps. It lies at 2265 m above sea level. M. and consists of two parts, separated by a small natural dam, the lower part of which is seven meters lower. From its banks there is a wonderful panorama of the mountains further south covered with eternal ice, including the Wetterhorn (3692 m), Schreckhorn (4078 m) and Finsteraarhorn (4274 m). The area around the lake is a moorland of national importance, through which the Mühlebach meanders.

The summit attraction “First Cliff Walk by Tissot” on Grindelwald-First is open daily. The summit circular route consists of a 40-meter-long single-cable suspension bridge, an ascent snail and a 45-meter-long viewing bridge. The circular route leads on the west side of the First summit and the Berghaus, at a dizzying height, along the steep rock face, back to the sun terrace of the First mountain inn.
